5 Things You Should Know About Long Day Care & Kindy at Navigator College
Leaving your child in someone else’s care is never easy, especially if long day care and kindergarten is something new for you. At Navigator College we understand that only too well.
Children are at the centre of everything we do and ensuring they have a quality and enjoyable learning journey throughout life, right from the beginning…is our mission and why we’re proud to now offer both long day care and kindergarten to our families.
Our purpose built, onsite early learning centre provides a nurturing and safe environment for children aged 3-5 years old with a vision to help inspire a love of learning, helping to prepare them for school.
1. We’re Open 5 Days a Week
Unlike other kindy services, we are open 5 days a week and close only over the Christmas period for a minimum of 4 weeks. Our hours of operation are 7.45am - 5.45pm.
This is wonderfully convenient for our families, as it means caregivers do not have to pick their children up from long day care and take them to a separate kindergarten or preschool, then drop them back to their long day care centre afterwards.
2. Available for 3 - 5 year olds
Because our centre hosts both a long day care centre and kindergarten, we’re able to accept children from as young as 3 years old. This is incredibly supportive for children’s learning as familiarity makes a big difference in a child’s world, helping them feel safe and secure, and ultimately, adapt better to change. This means transitioning from daycare into kindergarten and then on to Reception is far less stressful and worrying for the children, and their families.
3. Families eligible for up to 95% Subsidy
Fees from as little as $390 per term*
Our centre is an approved childcare subsidy provider, offering up to 95% subsidy assistance to families with the cost of child care.
Early Learning Program 8.30am to 4.00pm - $65.00 per day (before subsidy)
Before Care Programme 7.45am to 8.30am - $9.00 per session (before subsidy)
After Care Programme 4.00pm to 5.45pm - $15.00 per session (before subsidy)
*Fees calculated on 3 days of care at 80% subsidy. Actual fees are dependent on things such as the number of days in care and your eligibility for any government subsidies.
4. We focus on the ‘whole’ child
Every child is different, and each one has a unique personality, potential and their own family and culture. Our Early Learning Centre is a welcoming and nurturing environment where we acknowledge children as individuals, specialising in education with a key focus on the development of the whole child.
5. Our centre is state-of-the-art
Our Early Learning Centre is situated within the College grounds in a purpose built state-of-the-art facility. It includes an outdoor space especially designed for Early Childhood with a fenced playground and lawn area. It is here the students will have the opportunity to develop principles of play-based learning and the concept of the IB Primary Years Programme that will form a strong foundation for learning and aid their transition to Reception.
Being within the College grounds also means that the Early Learning Centre learners have access to all the facilities within the school. They often visit the Library for story time, music in the Music Centre, movement in the 2-Court Stadium, nature play within the on-site Bush Block, and also make regular visits to the Receptions classes and the brand new outdoor play space.
